Designed by Vitus Bikes and brought to you by Chainreactioncycles.com, all bikes in the Vitus Zircon range feature a lightweight triple-butted 6061-T6 hydroformed aluminium frame and proven components package at a great price.
If you’re a rider with some trail miles under your belt and looking for a mid-travel hardtail geared towards technical XC, look no further. The Zircon II has been revised and updated for 2013 and now features a 2×10 SRAM drivetrain for reduced weight and improved shifting performance.
Lightweight aluminium frame and Rockshox Recon 120mm travel forks
At the heart of the Zircon II is a lightweight, triple-butted, heat treated 6061-T6 aluminium frame with hydroformed tubeset, trail-tuned geometry, replaceable derailleur hanger and excellent upgrade potential. The frame also features internal cable routing to prevent mud and water getting into cable housings – keeping you shifting smoother for longer and keeping your bike out of the shop and out on the trails.
Suspension duties up front are handled by infinitely adjustable Recon Silver TK Solo Air forks, with 120mm of trail-taming travel for smooth bump absorption on technical XC loops with a lockout mode for fire-road climbs.
SRAM groupset
The Zircon II features a 20spd SRAM groupset combining X5 shifters and derailleurs with a SRAM S1000 2×10 chainset to provide slick gear changes and a wide gear ratio that will make short work of any gradient the trail can throw at you.
Avid Elixir 1 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors provide powerful, controlled stopping capability even in the worst of off-road conditions.
Finishing kit
A durable and lightweight SRAM/Mavic wheelset offers impeccable trail performance while grippy, high-volume Maxxis Advantage tyres will give you the confidence to push hard into every corner. A mix of reliable Easton and Vitus finishing kit round out the Zircon II package.
