Description

Big country. Big hills. Big wheels. Makes sense, no?

Renamed and revamped for 2013 is our Gravir range of XC/Trail full suspension bikes, built around our custom hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame with 100mm of rear wheel travel delivered via our Vitus V-Link four-bar suspension system; up front we’ve added a 120mm travel fork for a balanced yet lively suspension package.

For XC race and marathon riders looking for a great spec suspension big-wheeler, the Vitus Gravir 29 features a race-ready components package and the fast-rolling performance benefits of 29” wheels.

At Vitus we say it’s up to you to decide if a 29er is right for your size and your riding style, but many riders claim a smoother, faster ride – especially over uneven surfaces – and a better fit in larger bike sizes.

Brand new for 2013, the Vitus Gravir 29 is brought to you exclusively by Vitus Bikes and Chainreactioncycles.com.

100mm travel V-Link frame and RockShox Recon Gold TK forks
Our lightweight hydroformed multi-butted, heat treated 6061 aluminium frame features 100mm of rear wheel travel via a Four-Bar V-Link activated suspension platform which eliminates pedal bob yet remains fully active at all times. Suspension travel is controlled by a RockShox Monarch RL air shock offering infinite adjustability and silky smooth performance. All pivots run on sealed cartridge bearings providing supple performance with low maintenance. A replaceable derailleur hanger comes as standard.

RockShox Recon Gold TK 29 Solo Air forks offer 120mm of trail-taming air-sprung travel. A tapered steerer and 15mm Maxle Lite thru-axle means precise, positive tracking through rock gardens and rough sections of trail.

SRAM groupset
The Gravir 29 features a 20spd SRAM X7/X9 groupset with a SRAM S1400 2×10 chainset delivering slick and precise gear changes in all conditions and a gear ratio that will make short work of any gradient the trail can throw at you.

Avid Elixir 3 hydraulic disc brakes with a 180mm rotor up front and 170mm rotor at the back provide powerful, controllable stopping power ensuring you stay in control at all times.

Finishing kit
A lightweight Easton EA70 XC wheelset reduces rotational weight for faster acceleration and improved climbing prowess. Large-volume Maxxis tyres offer dependable grip in all conditions inspiring you to push hard into every corner. A great value components package is rounded out with a mixture of Easton EA50 and Vitus finishing kit for comfort, control and reliability.
