New for 2013 Vitus introduce the Sommet range, a big-mountain bruiser geared for gravity Enduro action with phenomenal pedalling characteristics for epic back-country riding. Built around our custom hydroformed 6061 aluminium frame with 150mm of rear travel delivered via our Vitus V-Link four-bar suspension system and featuring a top-notch components package that’s ready for the thrills and spills of All-Mountain assaults.

Brought to you exclusively by Vitus Bikes and Chainreactioncycles.com, the Sommet II yearns to be let loose on adrenaline-fuelled gravity runs.

150mm travel V-Link frame and RockShox Lyrik R forks
Our lightweight hydroformed multi-butted, heat treated 6061-T6 aluminium frame features 150mm of rear wheel travel via a four-bar V-Link activated suspension platform which eliminates pedal bob yet remains fully active at all times. Suspension travel is controlled by a RockShox Monarch R air shock which offers infinite adjustability and silky smooth performance. All pivots run on sealed cartridge bearings providing supple performance with low maintenance. A replaceable derailleur hanger comes as standard.

Up front a RockShox Lyrik R Solo Air forks deliver 160mm of buttery smooth, infinitely adjustable travel. A tapered steerer and 20mm Maxle thru-axle mean precise, positive tracking through corners, rock gardens and any obstacle the trial may throw up.

SRAM groupset
The SRAM groupset combines X7 shifters and derailleurs with a SRAM S1400 2×10 chainset to provide crisp, flawless gear selections every time. A Prime Aero dual chainguide comes as standard on the Sommet II making sure your chain stays in place when the dial turns to Gnarl.

Alpine descents require brakes you can count on, so we’ve fitted dependable Avid Elixir 3 hydraulic discs with 180mm rotors front and rear for powerful, fade-free braking performance.

An Easton Vice wheelset delivers a lightweight but bombproof package for snappy accelerations with the ability to handle the roughest descents. With a 20mm thru-axle front hub and 142mm x 12mm thru-axle rear you can be sure that stiffness and rigidity are uncompromised. High-volume Maxxis High Roller tyres combine predictable handling with low rolling resistance for complete confidence in all conditions.

To complete the package we’ve added an Easton EA50 stem with Vitus bars, seatpost, grips and saddle providing the finishing touches.
