The Sean Kelly Signature Edition is a strictly limited run of our flagship road bike that pays tribute to brand ambassador Sean Kelly – the most successful Vitus rider in the long history of the marque, and one of the true icons of the sport.
Regarded by many as the finest classics rider of all time, Sean Kelly notched no less than 80% of his 193 professional victories astride a bike bearing the Vitus badge, most notably the iconic aluminium-framed Vitus 979 which Kelly rode with distinction in several Tours de France.
Today Kelly provides valuable insight and input into the development of our top-end road bikes and proudly represents Vitus as Brand Ambassador. To honour this relationship we have developed the Vitus Sean Kelly Signature Edition, a strictly limited run of our flagship monocoque carbon road bike.
Featuring a distinctive black and green livery – reflecting Kelly’s Irish heritage as well as paying tribute to his having taken the maillot vert in four Tours de France – the bike mirrors the no-compromise attitude of its legendary namesake.
Based on the same rolling chassis as the carbon-framed Vitesse, the Sean Kelly Signature Edition adds a full complement of top-of-the-range Dura-Ace components with finishing kit from 3T and Mavic to provide a complete race ready package.
With ‘classic’ racing angles and a 54cm frame with 547mm top tube, the Sean Kelly signature bike is sure to appeal to racing connoisseurs as well as aficionados of cycling history.
Inspired by a man known to many as ‘The King’, the Vitus Sean Kelly Ltd Edition is fit for biking royalty.
Lightweight High Modulus UD Carbon Frame – 950g Frame Weight
Custom-moulded super high-modulus Uni-Directional carbon fibre frame with sloping geometry for race performance and long-distance ease, featherweight with strength resulting in a comfortable and responsive ride; the Vitus Sean Kelly Ltd Edition is a thoroughbred race steed ready to seize podium glory!
Shimano Dura Ace 7900 Groupset
Tried and tested on the UCI ProTour the Shimano Dura Ace 7900 groupset has been the benchmark system used by ProTour Teams. Shimano is renowned for crisp and efficient gear shifting in even the worst conditions, a quality that will pay dividends on race day when a sloppy gear change can mean the difference between winning and losing! Braking is highly effective thanks to the dual pivot callipers providing a perfect blend of stopping power and modulation which results in better handling and increased confidence on even the steepest descents.
Finishing Kit
The highly acclaimed 3T Pro stem, bars and seatpost provide a balance of lightweight and high performance to this race ready package. Aluminium is still the component material of choice for ProTour riders and who are we to argue. A lightweight Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheelset allows for fast accelerations and will surpass your wildest expectations on any ascent whilst remaining stiff enough to handle the most powerful sprints. When combined with Michelin PRO3 Light tyres this provides a superb all-round wheelset for racing and training duties.
