Introducing the Vitus 2018 CX Energie range

Welcome to the new Vitus Cyclocross range. The CX race machine, the winter road bike, the all season commuter, the gravel road adventurer.  Your fun bike for all conditions.

Cyclocross was once the sole preserve of hardened racers who wanted to maintain the competitive edge throughout the winter months. Now riders have discovered modern CX bikes to be the perfect all-rounders.

The new Vitus Energie range is all about freedom, freedom to leave the road and follow that track, freedom to wear what you want, go baggy or go lycra.  More than anything CX bikes give you choice.

Tyre treads without compromise

All bikes feature 35mm WTB CrossBoss tyres, most CX bikes fit 33c (width 33cm) to follow UCI race regulations for National and International events. Seeing this as a compromise our Vitus product team went for this larger volume tyre with a slightly less aggressive tread pattern, giving the bikes a more all-round and versatile ride characteristic. Smoother off road, faster on the road.

We know serious CX racers will also have their own selection of race tyres to suit the conditions, whether, its sandy, muddy or hard pact. These 35mm tyres will still be race approved for most regional and local events and perfect multi condition tyres for your first CX racing experience.

These tyres are also Tubeless ready, as are the WTB rims, we would recommend removing the tubes and going tubeless. Even with sealant inside tubeless is lighter, smoother due to a more supple tyre, and will self seal most punctures.

The Vitus Energie Range

We have split the Cyclocross range into two distinct platforms to suit your ride style and budget.

  • Alloy frame with Carbon fork – The SUV’s of the range
  • Carbon frame and fork – Race focus

The Energie Alloy range:

The alloy frame / carbon forks bikes are the most versatile in the range, rack and mudguard mounts suggest commuter and weatherproof winter bike. The geometry takes some design inspiration from the award winning Vitus mountain bike range, with longer top tubes and shorter stems. This maintains ride position but increases the wheelbase to add stability and built confidence in all conditions.

4 reasons why a Cyclocross bike could be the Ultimate Crossover bikes, the SUV’s of the Vitus road range.

  1. Gravel

Discover your own gravel adventures, with the freedom to turn off the road and onto the tracks.

  1. Commute

CX bikes are fantastic workhorses for the speedy commuter. The aluminium Energie bikes feature mudguard and rack mounts allowing you to ditch the back pack. With room engineered for bigger tyres you could select a high volume road tyre for fast and smooth commuting.

  1. Winter Road

The introduction of disc brakes in recent years has made a CX bike a smart choice for your winter road bike, with the added ability to run virtually any size road tyre.

  1. Cyclocross Racing

Racing CX is great way to maintain or improve fitness across the autumn and winter. It’s also going to improve your bike handling skills. And it’s fun too.
