Registration is now open for Northern Ireland’s ultimate charity adventure event, 70 Wild Miles, where competitors pedal, paddle and sprint their way around a challenging course in just one day to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people.

The event takes place on Saturday 25 June at the Share Holiday Village in Fermanagh. This year there is an extra incentive for adventure enthusiasts to sign up for the challenge as Chain Reaction Cycles is donating a brand new Vitus Razor road bike for the top fundraiser. CRC is also offering prizes for the first solo and team competitors crossing the line on the day.

The challenge kicks off with participants pedalling 47 miles, before taking to the water in a kayak and paddling 10 miles. The final 13 miles is completed on foot with participants crossing the finish line back at the Share Holiday Village. The world-renowned SPORTident timing system will be used to identify and score challengers.

Damien Duggan from Chain Reaction Cycles said: "We’re delighted to be sponsoring this year’s 70 Wild Miles event. It’s a real test of stamina and endurance, and the ultimate all-body work out. We would encourage interested parties to sign up now as it’s such a popular event."

Adventure-lovers can take part either as an individual or in a team of three and are asked to pay a registration fee of £25 and raise a minimum £100 in sponsorship for CLIC Sargent. All money raised from the event will help support families affected by childhood cancer in Northern Ireland, and across the UK.

Fionnuala Savage, Community Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, said: "This is the fifth year we have organised the 70 Wild Miles event and it’s fast becoming a favourite in the adventure challenge calendar here in Northern Ireland. I would like to thank Chain Reaction Cycles for their support of this year’s event. I’m sure the lure of a super new road bike will encourage competitors to take their fundraising up a gear.
