Vee-1 gets top review from What MTB mag

We’re extremely proud of our Vitus bikes that we’ve been developing over the last year. The first reviews are beginning to appear in the press, and they’re getting some very positive write-ups.

The latest in the range to be reviewed is the singlespeed Vee-1 model –  a bike that’s caused a stir already with BikeRadar and Cycling Active–  and now in What Mountain Bike magazine’s ‘Utility Vehicles’ test.

It’s a tough, versatile machine built with simplicity in mind. Built around a straightforward aluminium frame and rigid forks, the VEE-1 comes equipped with strong alloy wheels, high-volume slick tyres for comfort and speed and easily-maintained v-brakes for dependable stopping power.

It’s these simple, reliable, no-fuss features that impressed What Mountain Bike’s Steve Worland in the magazine test. Here’s what he said:

“Sadly, there are very few basic low cost mountain bikes available without the questionable addition of at least a suspension fork, and we know from testing experiences that very few sub-£500 mountain bikes have a suspension fork that works well enough to be worthy of praise.”

“It’ll handle everything from going to work/school and shopping to playing silly buggers on interesting street structures, but it’s got potential to be a great low cost, one geared MTB too.

It’s a pity there aren’t more bikes like the Vee-1 available. It already has the rack mounts and bottle bosses that set it apart from other big wheel BMX-type bikes and it takes very little imagination to see what else it’s good for.

The Vee-1 is light, durable enough for anything you throw at it, and easy to ride as long as you don’t need to tackle big climbs. It has the simplistic brawn and evil beauty of a BMX plus go anywhere, do anything practicality.”

Vitus bikes are available exclusively from Chain Reaction Cycles, ready to ride – so order yours now.
