Vitus factory riders lift two National Champs titles in Rostrevor
Proving that 650b really is the way forward for DH racing, Vitus Factory riders Ian McIntyre, Colin Ross and Sacha Bickerstaff all took to the podium at yesterdays Irish National DH Championships at Kilbroney Forest, Co. Down.
Following a day of practise on Saturday, all of the team were finding the track one of the most testing they’d seen in recent years. Despite a few tumbles and occasional “Over the bars” at the infamous “Hecklers Rock” all of the team started Sunday feeling like they were capable of grasping some silverware!
Spurred on by and electric atmosphere and the support of the crowd – Ian McIntyre took the National Vet’s Category, defending Elite Champion Colin Ross made it a 7th National Title and new Vitus Bikes signing Sacha Bickerstaff narrowly missed out on the top spot after crashing during her race run to take 2nd place in the Women’s Category.
