HOW DID I GET HERE? : At the age of ten I received my first mountain bike and I have loved it ever since. My dad introduced me to this awesome sport and it became a hobbie I loved and enjoyed and wanted to keep progressing at it ever since. After a year of mountain biking I soon became hooked on developing new skills and becoming faster. I soon moved on to harder tracks by which stage I decided that I’d give downhill a go.

In 2013 I started to race in the Chain Reaction Cycles IDMS series. I was really excited to start racing and taking the passion I had more seriously. Sadly the 2013 race season did not go to plan and it was a bit of a baptism of fire!. At my first race the track was in very bad conditions due to the heavy rain – I think I spent more time crashing than I did staying upright!. I learned a lot at that race and was eager to do the best to my ability at the next round of the IDMS.

As the 2014 race season was approaching I was determined to make it a good race season and enjoy racing. The IDMS kicked off at my home track and with that slight advantage and a quick race run I was delighted to take the win. I’m delighted to have teamed up with Vitus Bikes and it couldn’t have come at a better time as the Irish Champs is just around the corner! I’m looking forward to racing it on my new 2015 Vitus Dominer and am hoping to take the win. I’ve had the bike for a few weeks now and feel really comfortable on it – I’m thrilled to be on the Vitus team.

We’ll have full updates from Sacha throughout the rest of the season.
