Chris McGlinchey made quite a statement last year when he went from A4 to A1 in a matter of weeks while he also wore the leader’s jersey in the Tour of the North. The 21 year-old Belfast man has continued his form into the 2016 season with a string of consistent results.

“The start of the season has gone very well for me with some solid results in the National Series putting me in joint 2nd overall in the Cycling Ireland Rider Ranking & 4th overall in the National Road Series.”

McGlinchey has been selected to race for the Irish Development Team in this coming weekend’s Kerry Group Ras Mumhan – a four day stage race covering over 500km in which he’ll aim to join 2016 An Post – Chain Reaction signing Sean McKenna as winner of this prestigious race.

“It’s a big race for me, I’m targeting the GC win and would also like to win a stage, in the hope that I will get selected for one of the upcoming U23 Nations Cup races. After that the goal is to keep chasing wins and racking up the points in both the rider ranking and the national series. “
