Vitus Bikes rider Matti Adair recently added another victory to his growing collection in the Ulster MTB Champs in Craigavon, County Armagh, despite a puncture on the second lap of the race.

Here’s Matti’s report from the weekend:
“This weekend was the Ulster MTB Champs. I was looking forward to them after missing the Irish MTB Champs earlier in the year. The night before the race it rained hard and made the Craigavon course very muddy buy not slippery as it was mostly on man-made trails.

The race started well and I quickly pulled out a sizeable lead over the next Junior rider, which proved to be invaluable as on the second lap I punctured halfway round and had to ride the rest of the lap flat which lost me a lot of time. I made it to the pits, picked up a new wheel and continued, by which time the second place Junior had taken the lead. I pushed hard and caught and passed him within a lap, and then continued to push on and finished with a good lead. I’m happy with how the race went.”
