Vitus sponsored cross-country rider Matti Adair raced at the fifth round of the Ulster XC League over the weekend, finishing sixth place in the Senior Men 1 category.
Here’s Matti’s report from the weekend:
“The weekend’s race was held on the tough Dunmore circuit with its steep climbs, and started fast with a group of four forming from the front. On the first lap my chain bounced off going down the rock drop and I had to stop to put it back on.
I pushed hard to catch the group and caught up with them. On the second lap the group split and two riders went away. The warm conditions made it tough and I started to suffer with the heat and dropped back but as the temperature dropped I started to gain time again.
As I was starting to feel better and went into the fourth lap I could see third place in front of me, however the riders in front sped up and I pushed hard to get back on to them but couldn’t catch them. In the end I managed to finish in sixth place.”
