Vitus Vitesse Evo Team: Review

The Vitus Vitesse EvoTeam carried An Post-Chainreaction rider Przemysław Kasperkiewicz to stage victory and the climbers’ classification win on the Rás.

 

The team has been riding the Vitus bikes for a number of years now as one of its main sponsors, ChainReaction Cycles, own the brand. The Polish rider was carried up every climb by the Vitus Vitesse Evo Team, with Regan Gough and Matt Teggart also taking stage victories. Teggart also held the yellow jersey for a day thanks to some great riding. Kasperkiewicz came out of the Rás in great shape, as his victory on the final stage in Skerries underlined.  His power was laid down through Speedplay pedals, and he was riding an 11-speed groupset with the standard racing chainset set-up of 53-39. But the supreme mountain man teamed that up with a skinnier cassette: 11-25T.

 

 

The bike was finished with FSA cockpit and wheelset – Vision – and is very good value; available to buy at roughly this spec for under €3,000.

Having only just joined the team from Czech outfit Klein Constantia, the 22-year-old is still getting to know the machine, but has found one thing that stands out.

“Before the season, I did not know what to expect from this bike because I’ve never ridden one before,” said Kasperkiewicz.

“But after the first ride I was happy straight away, this bike surprised me very much. It is very light, but still has great stiffness.

“Everything about the bike makes me have a lot of fun. This is so important to the rider when you spend so much time on it. (On the Rás) it was 100 per cent tested, every day I was enjoying my ride.”
