Description

Back for 2014; meet the NEW and improved Vitus Energie; our all NEW frameset features disc specific braking for enhanced performance on the race course or on the road!

Cyclo-cross was once the sole preserve of hardened racers who wanted to maintain the competitive edge throughout the winter months but in recent years the sport has exploded into the mainstream with races cropping up every weekend throughout Europe and the UK alike!

To meet this growing trend we have added the Energie cyclo-cross bike to our lineup!

The Energie features a tough 6061-T6 alloy frame with carbon fork and has been designed specifically with cyclo-cross racing in mind. This is by no means a race only machine as the robust nature of this bike will also be ideally suited to commuters and touring fanatics who wish to add panniers and racks and will also double up as a great winter training bike.
By swaping out the CX tyres for a pair of 28c slicks the Energie can be transformed into a go anywhere road, trail or gravel slayer; the all NEW Energie has no boundaries!

Triple-Butted 6061-T6 Aluminium Frame & HM-UD Carbon Fork
Our all NEW cyclo-cross disc brake specific frameset features a triple-butted hydroformed tubeset with increased tyre and mud clearance for high volume cyclo-cross tyres. Cable routing has been specifically designed to prevent ingress of mud and water and to increase comfort when shouldering the bike during cyclo-cross race situations. A High-Modulus T700 HM-UD Carbon fork features a tapered alloy steerer and beefed-up blades to ensure precise tracking and steering with the ability to handle the rigours of competitive cyclo-cross racing.
Bottle cage mounts have been added along with mudguard and pannier mounts to expand the potential for all year multi-purpose use.

Shimano Tiagra & FSA Groupset
Shimano Tiagra shifters and derailleurs offer excellent performance and great value for money.
An FSA Omega compact chainset with cross specific 46t x 36t rings offers a wide gear ratio when paired up with the 12t – 28t Tiagra cassette. Tektro Lyra mechanical disc brakes with 160mm front & 140mm rear rotors offer superior braking performance in muddy CX race conditions. Mechanical disc brakes also present a better learning curve for on-road training rides permitting riders to get accustomed to the superior stopping power of disc brakes.

Alex A-Class CX-Disc Wheelset & Vitus Elite Finishing Kit
A durable wheelset is mandatory for CX race duties and the Alex A-Class CXD won’t disappoint. The rim profile features a 17mm internal width with a depth of 26mm; the semi-aero profile offers a smaller surface area for mud to sit on which will help keep the rotational weight to a minimum!
These are laced onto Formula disc hubs which run on sealed cartridge bearings.
Kenda Kwicker CX tyres are the perfect choice for muddy UK and European race courses.
Vitus finishing kit completes the components package. Our alloy bars, stem and seatpost provide a lightweight and dependable components package which have been colour coded to match the frame decals.
